Energie EnCorps is so excited to announced that they have partnered with the City of Montréal to host the city’s annual Sun Salutations | Yoga sur la Plage free collective event that will take place on two dates this summer, Friday, June 21 (International Day of Yoga) and Friday, August 23,  from 18:30 to 20:45 at the Parc Nature Cap-Saint-Jacques Beach. This event has been attended by approximately 500 people in past years and we are so excited to take part of the challenge! The celebration will begin with live music by Karen… Read More

Maybe you have seen these words before MYSORE YOGA on our class schedule, but you have never taken the opportunity to try the class because you are not sure exactly what it is.  The purpose of this blog is to help shed light on this beautiful, traditional practice of Mysore Yoga that we offer at Energie EnCorps and to encourage you all to try something new. To begin with, Mysore Yoga is the traditional way that Ashtanga Yoga is taught.  Ashtanga yoga is the traditional yoga practice that all of… Read More

Aaaaaahhhh… July.  A month of gorgeous weather, vacations and in my case new beginnings! As you likely know if you read my others blog posts, there have been some major shifts in my life in the last few months.  So much so that I missed the June YTT weekend to spend extra time with my sons, who needed it.  These last few months have been a roller coaster for me, with fear and pain as my sidekicks.  I am able to ride these waves, I keep busy, I smile, I… Read More

Journaling is like listening to one’s self and whispering at the same time… It’s been awhile since I took the time to journal.  Well, to be honest, it’s not so simple.  I actually carry a beautiful white and pink journal with the words BE HAPPY on the front cover with me all the time.  At the start of the year, I bought this journal to write my intentions for the road ahead.  My initial posts began with words of gratitude and inspiration, my aspirations and visions, as well as the… Read More

I was pretty nervous driving to Energie EnCorps from Montreal on Saturday morning. My bag was packed the night before and I went to bed too late. I got to the studio too early, always do, and hung out in the Tim’s parking lot for about 25 minutes. My first impression walking in from the cold was that of being welcome – there was the smell of essential oils in the air, people greeting each other, smiling. A good start!  Introductions also helped assuage some nervousness, every single person seemed… Read More

Contrary to popular belief the Mysore Yoga classes are not exclusively for double-jointed, contortionist yogis that know the Ashtanga Primary Series by heart.  And guess what… mysore classes are not designed to make you sore.   Phew, now that I got that off my plate… Allow me to demystify the mystery of Mysore and explain to you why you should give it a try. Mysore yoga is a class taught in the traditional teaching style of Ashtanga yoga.  Rather than a led class with the teacher cueing the poses at the… Read More

The excitement inside me has been literally shining out of my face over the past few days.   If you know me at all, you would know that this is so true.  For the past two days, I have been dancing with joy as I continue to hear the good news of the different souls who are committing to our 2018 Yoga Teacher Training.  Our new tribe is coming together… and it’s brilliant! Over the past 3 years, Energie EnCorps has trained over 35 students via our Ashtanga Teacher Training program. … Read More

This morning as I backed out of my driveway, I hit the car that was parked right behind me.  No big damage.  But, it was the third time that I hit a car parked there in the past 6 months.  Sure, it’s not a smart place to park!  But, hello… I should be going slower.  And of course, I should be paying more attention to what the heck I am doing.  While I actually LOOK  into the rearview mirror, I do not actually SEE anything. I see it all the time in class. … Read More

I am writing this blog as therapy, to organize my thoughts and to calm my nerves. You see, in two days I am giving a talk to a group of entrepreneurs about moving out of your comfort zone. In this talk, I will be sharing my personal experiences of hardship and of facing anxieties in my family life and in business, with the hopes of inspiring others to learn how to deal with FEAR… through the practice of YOGA. Over the past few months, I have been given these amazing… Read More

In my sixth Energie EnCorps Ashtanga 200hr yoga teacher training weekend, we finished going over all of the postures in the primary series. I feel comfortable with the postures and know what comes next since I practice mysore regularly and do weekly led ashtanga classes. Still, I have a long way to go to perfect each posture in the series but I am patient with myself to know that with enough practice, I will get there. Some postures might even take years for me to be comfortable to perform its… Read More
