Sadhana Continuing Education and Practice Series

Sadhana is a Sanskrit term used to refer to a daily spiritual practice. Sadhana represents a disciplined surrendering of the ego, in which the practitioner uses tools such as asana, pranayama and meditation regularly.

The Sadhana Continuing Education and Practice Series is designed for advanced level yoga students who have completed both the 200h and 300h Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training programs at Energie EnCorps.

The main purpose of this program is to create an ongoing practice and learning space for our most advanced students to deepen their Ashtanga Yoga Practice. The group would consist of dedicated students committed to the idea of the sangha (community) that practices, shares and learns together.

Discipline is the hardest part about staying on the path of yoga. This group is designed to keep the spirit of yoga alive, to create a sense of community and accountability to one another. It is designed to help one another stay committed and to develop a personal sadhana (practice).

This is an ongoing continuous education program that students may participate in year after year. This is a recognized Yoga Alliance YACEP Continuous Education Program.

This year the focus will be on the INTERMEDIATE SERIES OF ASHTANGA YOGA.

What is included in this program Continuing Education Program:

5 Days of Mysore Practice + Workshop & Adjustment Clinic: Advanced level yoga workshops based on the intermediate series of ashtanga. Topics include alignment, adjustments, modifications, progressions, use of props, counter postures and philosophy. All poses will be presented with accessible options for everyone.

Saturdays from 8am - 3pm. Each day would include an online Mysore practice (8-10 am), followed by in-person workshop and clinic (11-3pm)

  • May 15: Fundamentals of Manual Yoga Assists
  • July 10: Intermediate Series Back Bends
  • September 11: Intermediate Series Twists
  • November 6, Intermediate Series Hip Openers
  • January 22, Intermediate Series Inversions and Arm Balance
* The option of in-person with social distancing or hybrid Mysore classes may be possible depending on official covid health guidelines.

COVID update: Please note that plans for stability and continuity exist despite the possibility of covid restrictions. Procedural masks, goggles or visors and personal disinfectant are required for any activities requiring physical contact.

1 Monthly Mindfulness Meetup: A virtual zoom check in with the sangha. A way to keep us all connected and to encourage one another. We will use these meetings for mindfulness and discussion. Each meeting will include pranayama and meditation.  

The schedule will alternate monthly between open discussion  and planned topics suggested by the students. Students will have the opportunity to lead and or present material if desired. A forum to learn from one another. A chance for questions and answers with your teacher.

  • Times: Tuesday, 8pm - 9:15pm

Commitment to regular practice of 1-2 times per week. In order for this program to be a success, all participants must be committed to a regular Mysore and/or Ashtanga yoga practice.  

Feedback on teaching (optional): If the student wants to practice teaching, the opportunity to sub classes or teach Karma Yoga classes for charity would be available.

This program is for you if you:

  • Are committed, willing and desiring to integrate yoga as a daily part of your life
  • Are willing to practice regularly with the sangha
  • Be willing to receive feedback
  • Are committed to attending all sessions

Course Breakdown:

75 hours of YACEP Continuous Education Program Credits
50 contact hours and 25 non contact hours

Cost: $1250 + tax

To reserve your spot for 2021, a $300 non-refundable deposit.
Early bird special: $1050 if paid in full before March 25, 2021 OR

Installment plan (via credit card or post-dated cheques)

1st payment: $ 650 by April 1st, 2021
2nd payment: $300 by June 1st, 2021
3rd payment: $300 by August 1st, 2021

All payments are subject to GST and PST. No refunds will be provided. Missed hours can be made up in the following year's teacher training.

Certifications: At the end of the course, students that fulfill all the requirements will receive a 75 hour Certificate of Yoga Training which is recognized by Yoga Alliance.
